The Colleges of Education, Ghana have officially opened applications for admission into the Forty-Nine (49) Public Colleges of Education for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Suitably qualified applicants are invited to apply for the Four-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree Programmes offered across the various public Colleges of Education in the country.
Admission Requirements
- A. WASSCE / SSSCE Applicants
- WASSCE Holders Applicants must have:
- Credit passes (A1–C6) in six (6) subjects.
Three (3) Core subjects including:
- English Language
- Core Mathematics
- Integrated Science or Social Studies
Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the chosen course of study.
- SSSCE Holders Applicants must have:
- Credit passes (A–D) in six (6) subjects.
Three (3) Core subjects including:
- English Language
- Core Mathematics
- Integrated Science or Social Studies
- Three (3) relevant Elective subjects.
Note: Candidates awaiting the 2026 WASSCE or TVET Certificate II results may also apply as awaiting results applicants.
B. GCE Advanced Level Applicants
Applicants must:
Have passes in three (3) subjects (at least one Grade D or better).
Have credit passes (Grade 6) in five (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- A Science subject or Social Science subject.
C. Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Applicants
Applicants must:
Have passes in three (3) subjects (at least one Grade D or better).
Have credit passes in five (5) subjects including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Integrated Science or Social Studies (GBCE).
D. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Applicants
Applicants must meet one of the following:
1. TVET Certificate II with Lower Credit (C–) or better in six (6) subjects including three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant electives.
2. Certificate II in three relevant trade areas awarded by:
Technical Examinations Unit (TEU)
National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI)
City & Guilds
- Other authorized awarding bodies
(In addition to NABPTEX Certificate II in lieu of passes in English and Mathematics.)
3. NABPTEX Certificate II in relevant trade areas plus three (3) credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects including English and Mathematics.
4. National Certificate II qualification in Competency Based Training (CBT) under the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF).
E. Foreign Qualifications
All foreign qualifications must be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for equivalence determination.
Important: The American SAT, TOEFL, etc., are not accepted as standalone entry qualifications into Ghanaian tertiary institutions.

Applicants must pay GHS 350.00 into the Colleges of Education, Ghana Account at any branch of the Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG).

After payment, applicants will receive:
- Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Guidelines for Completing the Online Application
- Visit the admission portal using the PIN.
- Carefully read all instructions before selecting a programme.
- Select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice Colleges of Education.
- Select one Ghanaian language offered by the chosen college.
- Print the completed form.
- Attach one passport photograph and copies of results slips.
- Send via EMS Priority Envelope (Ghana Post) to the Principal of the first-choice college.
Applicants will receive:
- SMS confirmation upon receipt of application.
- Admission notification via SMS if successful.
All results will be verified with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Submission of fake documents will attract legal consequences.
