The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has inaugurated the Governing Councils of four public Colleges of Education, reinforcing government’s commitment to improving governance and quality assurance in Ghana’s teacher education system.
Colleges Involved
The newly inaugurated Governing Councils represent the following institutions:
- Al-Faruq College of Education
- Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education
- Enchi College of Education
- Gbewaa College of Education
Purpose of the Governing Councils
During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister emphasized the critical role Governing Councils play in:
- Providing strategic leadership
- Promoting accountability
- Supporting the effective management of Colleges of Education
He stated that strong and effective governance is key to improving teacher training and achieving national educational objectives.
