If you’re an MTN user looking to start saving conveniently through your mobile phone, the Y’ello Save service is a great option. Powered by MTN Mobile Money, Y’ello Save allows users to save money securely and earn interest over time. Here's how to register for the service if you're a first-time user:
Step 1: Dial the MTN USSD Code
Start by dialing *170# on your MTN phone.
Step 2: Navigate to Financial Services
Select Option 5 – Financial Services from the menu.
Step 3: Choose Savings
From the financial services list, select Option 2 – Savings.
Step 4: Select Y’ello Save
Choose Option 1 – Y’ello Save to continue.
Step 5: Begin Registration
Select the Register option and accept the Terms & Conditions as prompted.
Step 6: Set a 4-Digit Y’ello Save PIN
You’ll be asked to create a unique 4-digit PIN just for Y’ello Save (this should be different from your regular MoMo PIN).
Step 7: Confirm Registration with Your MoMo PIN
To complete your registration, you’ll need to authorize it by entering your existing MTN MoMo PIN.
Step 8: Make an Initial Deposit
Ensure you have at least GHS 2 in your wallet—this amount will be automatically deducted as your first savings deposit.
Step 9: Receive Confirmation
Once registration is successful, you will receive an SMS confirming that your Y’ello Save account is active.
