Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Grants Free Visas for Diaspora Summit 2025 Participants


 Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced visa-free entry for all registered participants of the upcoming Diaspora Summit 2025, scheduled to take place from 19th to 20th December 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).


This initiative fulfils a pledge made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs during the Media Launch of the Summit, aimed at promoting Pan-African cooperation and strengthening bonds between Africans and people of African descent around the world.


Visa-Free Arrangements for Participants

In the announcement, the Ministry urged all participants to visit the nearest Ghana Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate in their country of residence to secure free visa endorsements before traveling.


The Ministry emphasized that this gesture is part of Ghana’s commitment to supporting African unity and building lasting partnerships for collective progress.


The deadline for online registration is Monday, 8th December 2025, via the official website: www.diasporasummitghana.org.


Countries Whose Nationals Do Not Require Visas

Under existing reciprocal Visa Waiver Agreements, citizens of several countries do not need visas to enter Ghana, depending on the type of passport they hold.


Countries with Visa-Free Entry for All Passport Holders

Nationals of the following countries can travel to Ghana without a visa:


  • Barbados

  • Bahamas

  • Dominica

  • Mauritius

  • Seychelles

  • South Africa

  • Kenya

  • Lesotho

  • Eswatini

  • Mozambique

  • Tanzania

  • Trinidad and Tobago

  • Singapore

  • São Tomé and Príncipe

  • Rwanda

  • Jamaica

  • Zimbabwe

  • Zambia

  • Morocco

  • Guyana

  • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

  • Malawi

  • Grenada


Visa-Free Entry for Diplomatic, Official & Service Passport Holders


Holders of diplomatic, official, or service passports from the following countries do not require a visa:


  • Brazil

  • Colombia

  • China

  • Cuba

  • Germany

  • Sudan

  • Türkiye

  • Namibia

  • Hungary

  • Iran

  • India

  • Equatorial Guinea

  • Saint Kitts and Nevis

  • Suriname

  • Venezuela

  • Malta

  • United Arab Emirates


Ministry Encourages Early Processing

The Ministry encouraged all registered participants to submit their passport details early to Ghanaian Missions abroad to facilitate smooth visa processing. It also assured attendees of a warm welcome to Ghana as preparations for the Summit intensify.
