How to Obtain a Permanent GTLE Licence: Registration Requirements and Process

Teachers who are seeking to attain their permanent teaching licence are required to register on the Teacher Portal Ghana https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh/  (TPG) and create their personal professional teacher portal account.

The registration process allows teachers to establish their professional profile and access services provided by the National Teaching Council (NTC) through the Teacher Portal Ghana platform.

Registration Requirements for Teachers

Public school teachers are generally required to provide their Staff ID and SSNIT number during the registration process. However, private school teachers and teachers in other categories who do not have a Staff ID can still register using the information applicable to their category.

Common Registration Challenges

Some teachers may encounter difficulties while trying to create or activate their TPG accounts. Common issues may include:

  • Invalid Staff ID or SSNIT number
  • Invalid email address
  • Duplicate email address
  • Pending activation by the NTC
  • Other account registration or activation-related challenges

Teachers who experience any of these problems are advised to contact the National Teaching Council (NTC) for assistance so that their details can be verified and the issue resolved.

Teachers are encouraged to ensure that the information provided during registration is accurate and corresponds with their professional records to avoid unnecessary delays in the registration and account activation process.

The Teacher Portal Ghana is therefore an important platform for teachers who are working towards obtaining and managing their professional teaching licence.
