The Ghana Education Service (GES) has responded to concerns raised by the Coalition of Unpaid Teachers regarding outstanding salary arrears and related issues affecting some teachers recruited in 2024.
In a statement dated 8th September 2026, the GES acknowledged receiving a petition from the Coalition of Unpaid Teachers, which represents some teachers who have raised concerns about unpaid salaries and arrears.
According to the GES, records available to Management indicate that the salaries and arrears due to teachers within the group have been processed. However, the Service noted that some individual cases may still require further verification and resolution.
GES Establishes Help Desk for Affected Teachers
To facilitate the prompt resolution of outstanding cases, the GES has established a dedicated Help Desk at the GES Headquarters to assist teachers whose concerns remain unresolved.
Teachers who have unresolved salary or arrears issues have been encouraged to report to the GES Headquarters, Room 305, with all relevant supporting documents. The documents will enable Management to verify their details and address their individual cases.
Help Desk Hotline Numbers Provided
For teachers who are unable to travel to the GES Headquarters, the Service has also provided hotline numbers through which affected teachers can seek assistance and guidance on how to submit their details remotely.
The Help Desk can be contacted on:
- 0201360786
- 0201360789
The GES said the hotline is intended to assist teachers who cannot visit the Headquarters in person.
GES Reaffirms Commitment to Teachers
The Ghana Education Service further assured teachers that Management remains committed to addressing all legitimate concerns promptly and safeguarding the welfare of teachers.
The statement was signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, Ghana Education Service (GES).
