The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially announced the registration for the 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 1). Eligible candidates are invited to apply within the stated registration period.
Eligibility for GTLE 1 (2026)
A candidate is eligible to write the 2026 GTLE 1 if he or she:
- Holds a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
- Candidates with foreign degrees must provide a certificate evaluation report from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to confirm eligibility.
- Must visit http://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to check their status before starting the registration process.
- Must pay an indexing fee of GH¢50.00 (Re-sit candidates are exempted from the indexing process).
Examination Fees
- Fresh candidates: GH¢450.00 (for three papers)
- Re-sit one paper: GH¢150.00
- Re-sit two papers: GH¢210.00
- Re-sit all three papers: GH¢385.00
Mode of Payment
Payments can be made:
- At any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide, or
- Via mobile money using the shortcode *772*51# across all networks.
After dialing the shortcode:
- Select Teacher Licensure
- Select Non-Professional Training
- Retrieve Voucher
- Choose Number 1 (Teacher Licensure) and follow the prompts.
After successful payment, candidates will receive a message containing their name, indexing number, and further instructions.

- Registration Opens: 16th February, 2026
- Registration Deadline: 10th March, 2026
- Examination Date: 23rd to 25th March, 2026
