Interior Security Services: Official Guidelines for Aptitude & Trade Tests

 

The Ministry of the Interior, through the Centralized Services E-Recruitment Portal (C-SERP), has released detailed guidelines for the 2025/2026 online aptitude and trade tests for applicants to the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service.


Applicants are advised to carefully read and adhere to the instructions outlined below to ensure a smooth and successful test process.


CATEGORY 1: APTITUDE & TRADE TEST OVERVIEW

Applicants are hereby informed that the 2025/2026 Centralized Recruitment Aptitude Test will be conducted online.

The test is best taken on a computer system equipped with a webcam and microphone.


Test Categories

The aptitude test will be conducted in the following order:

  • Category A: NVTI / JHS / Sportsmen / Certificate Holders
  • Category B: HND / Degree / Masters
  • Category C: WASSCE


Number of Questions

  1. Category A: 30 questions
  2. Category B & C: 60 questions

  • Pass Mark: 65%


 Note: Category A applicants will be further subjected to a trade test based on their selected trade vacancies.


CATEGORY 2: APTITUDE TEST 1 – TEST DATES & SCHEDULE

The aptitude test will be conducted from Tuesday, 10th February to Sunday, 22nd February 2026.

Timelines by Category

NVTI / JHS / Sportsmen / Other Certificates:

  • Tuesday, 10th – Friday, 13th February 2026


HND / Degree / Masters:

  • Saturday, 14th – Tuesday, 17th February 2026


WASSCE:

  • Wednesday, 18th – Sunday, 22nd February 2026

Applicants are required to visit their portals within their assigned dates to access the aptitude test link.


  • SMS notifications will also be sent to all qualified applicants to remind them of their test period.


Important: Applicants who applied to multiple services will take the test only once, except those who applied under different categories across different services or agencies.


CATEGORY 3: APTITUDE TEST 2 – SYSTEM & ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS

For a seamless online aptitude test experience, applicants should note the following:


  • The test link will be made available on the applicant’s portal on the specified date for their category.
  • Applicants are strongly advised to use actual computers with webcam and microphone capabilities for best performance.

Enrolment Stage

Once the “Start Test” button is clicked, applicants will go through an enrolment process which will:

  • Calibrate the webcam, test its liveness, and confirm the identity of the test taker.
  • Check internet strength and noise levels around the applicant.


Applicants must maintain focus and keep their faces aligned with the calibrated posture throughout the exam.


The entire examination is powered by enhanced AI proctoring, including session recording and random snapshots to detect any form of malpractice.


CATEGORY 4: APTITUDE TEST 3 – EXAM CONDUCT & RULES

Applicants are to strictly observe the following rules during the test session:


  • The test cannot be closed, stopped, or saved once it has started.
  • The test will be automatically submitted once the allotted time elapses.
  • Each question must be answered before proceeding to the next.
  • Any attempt to allow another person to take the test on behalf of the applicant will be detected, and sanctions will apply.


Applicants must ensure they have a strong internet connection before starting the test.

 A mandatory internet strength test will be conducted beforehand.


Applicants must keep their faces aligned within the proctoring frame throughout the test or risk disqualification.


Final Note to Applicants

All applicants are encouraged to prepare adequately, ensure stable internet connectivity, and strictly comply with all guidelines. Failure to follow the instructions may result in disqualification.
