TTAG Issues Advisory to Teacher Trainees Amid Ongoing CETAG Strike To Remain at Home Until Strike Is Called Off

The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG), through its National Secretariat, has issued an official advisory to all teacher trainees following a notice from the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) and the ongoing strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers’ Association of Ghana (CETAG).

Remain at Home Until Strike Is Called Off

TTAG advises all teacher trainees to remain at home until the ongoing strike action is officially called off and full teaching and learning activities resume. This directive follows the unresolved industrial action declared by CETAG, which continues to disrupt academic activities across Colleges of Education in Ghana.

Leadership Engaging Stakeholders

The Association assures teacher trainees that its leadership is actively engaging relevant authorities and key stakeholders to find a permanent and sustainable resolution to the issues underlying the strike. TTAG remains committed to ensuring that normal academic activities are restored as soon as possible.

Special Notice to Level 400 Teacher Trainees

For Level 400 teacher trainees currently undertaking their macro-teaching practice, TTAG has indicated that it is working closely with PRINCOF regarding the approved duration of the practice period. The Association believes the ongoing strike will not negatively affect the macro-teaching program.

However, if the strike persists beyond February 9, 2026, a final determination will be made in consultation with relevant authorities. Until then, Level 400 teacher trainees are encouraged to continue their macro-teaching practice and follow only official TTAG communications for guidance.

Call for Calm and Unity

TTAG urges all teacher trainees to remain steadfast and calm during this period while awaiting further official updates from the Association. The leadership reassures members that TTAG remains their voice, advocate, and shield until the matter is fully resolved.
