When Will 2024/2025 NSS Personnel Complete Their National Service?

National Service Personnel for the 2024/2025 year, particularly College of Education graduates, began their mandatory one-year service around April 2025, instead of the expected March start. This delay was due to administrative processes from the National Service Scheme (NSS).

As mandated, national service lasts for 12 months, after which personnel await recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES) or other sectors.

  • So, when are they expected to complete?

The official service year is projected to end in March 2026.

However, March will be observed as a leave month for all personnel. This means personnel may choose not to report to their posts during March, and it won’t affect their service records.

Therefore, active national service work is expected to end in February 2026.

This will mark the completion of the full one-year service, making way for personnel to prepare for the next phase whether further studies, job hunting, or GES recruitment  for teacher trainees.
