In an exclusive interview on Flip Media, hosted by Konphirm, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Mr. Dennis Osei Owusu, addressed pressing concerns regarding the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) and related matters.
Here’s a breakdown of the key points:
1. Viewing Licensure Results with Outstanding Resits
Mr. Owusu explained that candidates who have resit papers pending at their colleges will be able to view their NTC results only once. However, they cannot download the NTC certificate until:
- They successfully write and pass the resit.
- Their college updates their academic records in the NTC system.
Only then, and if the candidate has passed the licensure exams, will the certificate be available for download.
2. GTLE Results Do Not Affect NSS Registration
He emphasized that failing the licensure exam does not affect National Service registration. The systems of NTC and NSS are not linked, so candidates who didn’t pass can still proceed with NSS and write the exam at a later time.
3. NTC Portal Is Now Fast and Stable
Mr. Owusu assured candidates that the NTC online portal has been improved. It is now stable with no traffic issues, so candidates should not worry when checking results or accessing the system.
4. Beware of Fraudsters
He issued a strong warning against scammers posing as NTC officials or middlemen. No one is authorised to charge money in exchange for results, certificate access, or resit support.
His advice: “If anyone takes money from you for help, go and collect it back.”
