Every Region Now Covered: New Passport Application Centres Ready for Commissioning

In a historic first for Ghana, all 16 regions including the six newly created ones  will now have their own Passport Application Centres.

The infrastructure is complete, and these centres are set to be commissioned within this month of December 2025.

This milestone means Ghanaians no longer need to travel long hours to another region just to capture biometrics or complete passport applications. Access to essential travel documents is now more equitable, convenient, and closer to home than ever before.

Today, December 7, marks exactly one year since you voted overwhelmingly to reset Ghana. That vote was a vote for progress, inclusion, and fairness and we remain deeply committed to delivering on that mandate.

As promised, we have established seven new Passport Application Centres in all regions that previously lacked them. In addition, we have reduced passport application fees by 30%, bringing the cost down from GHS500 to GHS350, easing the financial burden on citizens.

This development is not only transformational but also timely. As Ghanaian football fans prepare to travel to the United States and Canada to support the Black Stars, we are proud to make international travel more accessible to every Ghanaian  from every corner of the country.

We’re building a new Ghana that works for all, and this is just one of the many steps toward that vision. Your support is not taken for granted and our work continues.

This important announcement was published on the official Facebook page of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
