Thousands of candidates who sat for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are expected to receive their results on 17th July 2026, paving the way for the commencement of the Senior High School (SHS) placement process.
Following the release of the results, candidates and their parents are expected to have the opportunity to confirm and validate their selected schools between 21st July and 27th July 2026. The confirmation exercise is aimed at ensuring that candidates' school choices are accurate before final placements are made.
The school selection confirmation period is expected to help reduce errors and provide candidates with the chance to review their choices before the computerized placement process is finalized.
According to the proposed timeline, the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is expected to release school placement results on 13th August 2026. Candidates will then be able to check the schools in which they have been placed and begin preparations for admission.
Successful candidates are expected to report to their respective Senior High Schools on 18th September 2026 for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic year.
