Lincoln Media Resourcez Edu has initiated a discussion over the consistent inclusion of the 2025 batch in recent teacher recruitment statements made by the President and the Minister for Education.
This has raised concerns among many graduates, particularly because the 2025 batch is yet to begin their mandatory national service. The situation has left many questioning why they are being considered in recruitment conversations at this stage.
Reacting to the issue, the Founder and Leader of the Informed Teachers Network, Mr. Jerry Akporhor, has cautioned graduates against relying on political statements without official confirmation from the Ghana Education Service (GES).
According to him, any announcement made by political leaders should be treated with caution until it is formally communicated by the Ghana Education Service.
> “When the president or minister says anything, treat it as a political statement. Wait until you hear from the Ghana Education Service. Until the Ghana Education Service makes an official comment on this whole recruitment issue, treat it as another campaign promise.”
Mr. Akporhor further highlighted previous instances where similar announcements required clarification from the Ghana Education Service, urging graduates to learn from past experiences.
> “We were all here when the same minister said he had clearance to recruit about 60,000 staff and another clearance to pay those who had not been paid for 14 months. Did you listen to the comments he made when he met a group of teachers demonstrating over unpaid salaries and delayed postings? Each time, the Ghana Education Service has to come in to clarify what he says.”
He concluded by advising all prospective applicants to remain patient and wait for an official communiqué from the Ghana Education Service before drawing conclusions.
> “It is the same thing happening again. Wait patiently until the Ghana Education Service issues a statement.”
As discussions continue, stakeholders are hopeful that the Ghana Education Service will soon provide clarity on the recruitment process and the actual batches to be considered.
