PRINCOF Reschedules Resumption Date for Public Colleges of Education

The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education–Ghana (PRINCOF) has officially announced a change in the resumption date for all public Colleges of Education across the country.

According to a statement dated January 14, 2025, and signed by the General Secretary, Dr. Samuel Addae-Boateng, the earlier resumption date scheduled for Monday, 19th January 2026 has been rescheduled to Monday, 9th February 2026.

The decision, PRINCOF explained, is aimed at ensuring adequate preparation for a smooth reopening of the academic calendar. The adjustment will also allow colleges enough time to complete ongoing institutional arrangements necessary for the effective delivery of teaching and learning.

PRINCOF acknowledged the inconvenience the change may cause to staff and students but appealed for understanding and cooperation from all stakeholders. Principals of the various Colleges of Education have been directed to communicate the updated resumption date to their staff and students to enable them to make the necessary academic and administrative adjustments.

The leadership of PRINCOF reaffirmed its commitment to fostering excellence in teacher education in Ghana and expressed appreciation for the continued support from stakeholders in the education sector.

The letter was copied to the Honourable Minister of Education, the Director-General of GTEC, the Director of Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education, and the National President of PRINCOF.

Students and staff of public Colleges of Education are therefore advised to take note of the new resumption date and prepare accordingly.
